El trabajo compensatorio trata de ejercitar grupos musculares no incluidos durante la sesión (Bompa 1993), por otro lado, sería ejercitar grupos musculares que se han activado en menor medida durante el ejercicio realizado, a su vez, utilizándose para reducir la agresividad que tienen ciertos ejercicios (Seirul-lo 1997).
Es decir, si hemos hecho un entrenamiento de carrera para trabajar un contenido de resistencia, sería ejercitar grupos musculares que se han activado en menor medida durante la actividad, en este caso, durante la carrera, o si hemos hecho un trabajo de Fuerza exigente, como en el caso de un Squat completo.
Su objetivo principal es prevenir lesiones, son contramedidas para tratar de evitar la aparición de lesiones.
Trabajamos a partir de:
1. EJERCICIOS COMPENSATORIOS: Ejercicios con un efecto inmediato en las sesiones de entrenamiento que llevamos a cabo. Aparecen en todas las sesiones de nuestros entrenamientos.
2. EJERCICIOS COMPLEMENTARIOS: Ejercicios con un efecto más retardado, tratan de buscar un nuevo equilibrio, activar musculatura que tiende a «des-tonificarse».
